APTI celebrates 50 years of historic preservation on the US/Canada border

A delegation of heritage architects from EVOQ traveled to the picturesque border village of Stanstead, Quebec to celebrate the Association for Preservation Technology International’s 50th anniversary with a group of conservators, engineers and other heritage conservation specialists from Canada and the United States. Participants were treated to a visit of the Rock of Ages granite quarry and workshop, which featured a live demonstration of explosive extraction, set off by EVOQ’s own Neil McNulty. The lecture venue was the unique and beautiful Haskell Opera house, which straddles the Canada/US border.
