Inauguration of La Maison Akhwà:tsire

March 27, 2023

EVOQ was honoured to be invited to the opening of “La Maison Akhwà:tsire” on the 27th of February.

This new housing project is part of a transitional housing program led by Projets Autochtones Québec (PAQ) and will offer four new transitional apartments for men and women experiencing homelessness. PAQ is an Indigenous organization that accompanies First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples facing housing insecurity in Tio’tià: ke / Montreal.

We were delighted to see the stunning integrated installations designed by our Innu colleague and interior designer, Julia Hervieux. Inspired by the changing seasons, her thoughtful selection of decor seamlessly connects the different nations and their shared traditions.

The renovation project of the two existing buildings was led by our colleagues at 2Architectures.
