Roxanne Gauthier
Roxanne Gauthier is an Associate Director of EVOQ. Over the last 17 years, she has delivered multiple projects in Nunavik and Nunavut (Northern Canada). Working in remote locales requires specific project management expertise. Roxanne brings her formidable skills in logistical planning and her interpersonal abilities to build consensus with multiple stakeholders, and find practical solutions for complex projects. Her conviction that the built environment should be sustainable has led to a design approach that answers the simple question, “What is doable?” Her architectural projects are characterized by their compact designs, robust construction and their response to local cultural patterns. Built to last, they are inherently sustainable. This principle applies equally to any of her projects, be they institutional, educational, cultural or residential. Roxanne has designed and supervised the construction of housing to meet community needs across the North. Three projects that showcase her capacities in design and project management include the Iqaluit Day Care Centre, NU; the Kenojuak Cultural Centre and Print Workshop, Cape Dorset (Kinngait), NU and Inukjuak Community Centre, Nunavik, QC.
Roxanne’s commitment to sustainable principles extends beyond EVOQ’s projects for its clients. Under her leadership, EVOQ is the first architectural firm to achieve ECORESPONSIBLE™ LEVEL 2 Certification from the Conseil des industries durables for its Montreal, Ottawa and Toronto offices. In fact, EVOQ is one of the first three companies, across all sectors of activity, to obtain Level 2 certification. This certification, administered by ECOCERT, recognizes “EVOQ’s concrete contribution to sustainable development and its eco-responsible practices.”
Roxanne is a graduate of the McGill University School of Architecture.
