Community Murals Illuminate the New Kangiqsualujjuaq Youth Centre

EVOQ is proud to have facilitated the integration of community artwork into the new Kangiqsualujjuaq Youth Centre, which it designed and recently completed.

At the initiative of the Nunavik Youth House Association (NYHA), artists from SAUTOZIEUX collaborated with young people from the community to create murals that now adorn the building.

Last September, SAUTOZIEUX and the Nunavik Regional Board of Health and Social Services (NRBHSS) organized the "Creation on the Land" camp in Kangiqsualujjuaq, an initiative aimed at nurturing the artistic vision for the future murals.

For five days at the Qalirusiliq cabin, the SAUTOZIEUX team led creative workshops bringing together 22 children, 11 adolescents, and 5 elders. Together, they created works inspired by the land. The exhibition on September 15 and 16 brought together parents, teachers, and community members, celebrating the talent of the young participants.

The designs selected by NYHA have now come to life on its walls. We are pleased to share the stunning murals born from this inspiring collaboration. Stay tuned to discover photos of the completed building!
