Consultation for the Amishku-Shipiss - Kigiap Konga - Beaver Brook Camp project
As part of a new mandate for Parks Canada, Roxanne and Emmanuelle from EVOQ facilitated a consultation in Goose Bay last week. At the heart of the discussions: the Amishku-Shipiss - Kigiap Konga - Beaver Brook Camp project.
The project will be the first development for the Akami-Uapishkᵁ - KakKasuak - Mealy Mountains National Park Reserve, the 46th national park covering an area of over 10,000 km2.
The brainstorming and sharing session brought together representatives from Parks Canada, the Labrador Innu Nation and the Nunatsiavut government. Together, they worked to define a common vision for this site of significant cultural and historical value.
