Spotlight on the Église du Très-Saint-Sacrement conservation project with Marianne Leroux
EVOQ architect and associate Marianne Leroux was recently interviewed by Radio-Canada Québec about the ongoing conservation of the Église du Très-Saint-Sacrement in Québec City.
Marianne shared insights into the careful work underway to secure and rehabilitate the landmark church’s two bell towers and stone envelope. The conservation work includes the selective dismantling, documentation, cleaning, and reinstallation of the bell tower’s stone balustrade, localized masonry replacement, and discreet structural reinforcement of the bell towers. Beyond preserving the exterior envelope, these interventions are essential to protecting the church's interior. The Église du Très-Saint-Sacrement was classified as a heritage building by Québec's Ministère de la Culture et des Communications in 2022. This project marks an important step toward safeguarding the century-old building and preparing it to welcome the public again.
