Groundbreaking Ceremony for the PAQ Project

Projets Autochtones du Québec (PAQ) recently held the official groundbreaking ceremony marking the start of construction on its future PAQ2 shelter, located at 65-69 Sherbrooke Street West, in Montreal. Valued at $23 million, this project will provide permanent, modern, and culturally appropriate infrastructure for Indigenous people experiencing homelessness in an urban setting.

For EVOQ, this is a particularly special mandate, one that brings together all of our practice areas. Since 2022, the realization of this project has mobilized three EVOQ teams, combining their expertise: the team dedicated to Indigenous communities, the team specialized in urban projects, and the team working on heritage buildings.

This large-scale project would not have been possible without the extraordinary collaboration of all members of the project team: Projets Autochtones du Québec, Bouthillette Parizeau & Associés, NCK, GLT+, Invisio Media, Mousse Architecture de Paysage, Maçonnerie L.M.R., HLB Lighting Design, Cansel Survey Equipment, and Atelier Habitation Montréal.

The new shelter is expected to open in 2028.
