On June 21, join us in celebrating National Indigenous Peoples Day!
For the 30th National Indigenous Peoples Day, we would like to celebrate the exceptional organizations we are fortunate to collaborate with.
Projet Autochtone du Québec, which helps members of Indigenous communities living in Montreal access shelter, housing, and culturally adapted care with dignity and strength.
Isuarsivik, which delivers holistic and culturally responsive, trauma-informed recovery programs based on the principles of Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit to help Nunavimmiut recover their inner strength and well-being.
The midwives of Nunavik, who together with Ilagiilluta (Let’s Be a Family) Integrated Early Childhood and Perinatal Services, the Ungava Tulattavik Health Center (CSTU), and the Nunavik Regional Health and Social Services Board (RRSSSN), empower Inuit communities and support the process of reclaiming perinatal care, notably through the ongoing project to build a new birthing centre in Kuujjuaq.
Through their missions and on-the-ground work, these organizations provide culturally responsive, independent social services support and help ensure that services for Indigenous peoples are culturally appropriate.
Truly inspiring commitment!
