Public Consultations for the future Nibiischii National Park Welcome Center

In April, our colleagues Roxanne and Mathilde visited Mistissini, in Eeyou Istchee (Cree territory) Quebec, for our Welcome Center project for the Nibiischii National Park.

As well as touring the site, they participated in the first round of important consultations with community members. Facilitated by La Boîte Rouge Vif team with support from EVOQ, the workshops provided insight into the perspectives and wishes of youth and elders, tourism and economic development groups, and Cree tallymen, the traditional land stewards of this region.

The ideas shared during these insightful exchanges will deeply inform our work as we begin the project design.
