St. George’s Anglican Church

St. George’s Anglican Church was built in 1870 in the Gothic Revival architectural style. The church is a National Historic Site of Canada, part of the Dorchester Square and Place du Canada heritage site in downtown Montreal. The historic church features sculpted sandstone masonry, intricate woodwork interior, stained glass windows, soaring ceiling beams, and a silk damask offered by Westminster Abbey in honour of the crowning of Queen Elizabeth II.

Following a comprehensive building condition assessment, EVOQ developed a multi-phase rehabilitation program that included emergency works, restoration of masonry, windows, stained glass and slate roof. A prominent feature amongst the modern downtown highrises, St. George’s is a fine example of Montreal’s rich architectural heritage.
