Raglan Mine - Expansion of the Repair Garage

EVOQ was commissioned to build a new maintenance garage with a welding workshop, storage areas, a mechanical/electrical room and offices on the first floor, attached to the existing garage and separated by a firewall. The refurbishment includes the addition of an exit staircase and modification of the access for maintenance of the overhead crane. Designed for heavy machinery such as loaders, snow ploughs and tippers, the garage includes a section dedicated to welding. One of the major challenges was to effectively isolate the welding area from the washing and maintenance areas to prevent gas transfer. Carried out in phases, the work was done without interrupting the activity of the existing building, in compliance with the customer's request.
