Station Polytechnique-Alstom
The Station-Polytechnique-Alstom project was imagined by a group of engineering and sustainable development students that together formed the Station Polytechnique Committee. This innovative project came into being following a contest launched by the STM in 2016 requesting proposals for what to do with its soon-to-be-retired MR-63 series Metro trains. Station Polytechnique proposed to integrate one of the metro cars into the atrium of the Lassonde Pavillion and transform it into a multi-functional space dedicated to student wellbeing.
EVOQ is a proud financial partner of this innovative project promoting Quebec’s design heritage. The project is also very current since the car will serve as a place for relaxation and to raise awareness for mental health issues; the space will host a series of activities focusing on these themes as of this fall. EVOQ also participated in a professional capacity, offering its know-how in dealing with the complex technical and regulatory challenges this project presented, as well as producing architectural plans and specifications and services throughout the construction phase.
