A rewarding week for EVOQ at the “Building Bridges” conference
EVOQ Associate and Director Lena Buchinger, President of APTi, Simona Rusu, senior Architect and Co-President of the APTi Quebec Chapter, and Marianne Leroux, Associate and member of the local organizing committee, were delighted to welcome over 1,000 participants to the joint APTi, National Trust and CAHP conference. Building Bridges / Créer des ponts was held in Montreal from November 12 to 16.
EVOQ was present throughout this effervescent week. Technical visits were held, during which the challenges of some of our projects were presented, notably those of Eaton's 9e, the former Les Cedres hydroelectric power station, the St-Eustache church and the Maisonneuve library. Several members of the heritage team also took part in the various presentations, either as session chairs (Georges Drolet and Éric Stein), or as speakers (Julia Gersovitz, Marianne Leroux, Mélissa Mars and Janet Li).
Finally, congratulations to the CAHP award-winning teams (the Maisonneuve Library, the Winnipeg Exchange District Heritage Sustainability Report, the City of Gatineau Modern Heritage Inventory, and Janet Li for her master's project entitled “Facadist Toronto: Heritage at Face Value”), who were honoured at the awards ceremony held as part of the joint conference. Congratulations also to Mélissa Mars, who received the Jacques Dalibard Award from ICOMOS Canada.
