Bellevue House

Bellevue House is a National Historic Site designated for its association with Sir John A MacDonald and its Italianate architecture and picturesque massing. The scope of work focused on the conservation of the building by addressing the deteriorations caused by on-going roof leaks, code-required electrical upgrades, and by developing a 20-year maintenance plan through a building condition assessment. A second mandate of rehabilitating the front veranda was also undertaken.

All of the work was founded on the Parks Canada Standards and Guidelines for the Conservation of Historic Places in Canada (2010), and was submitted for review and approval to the Federal Heritage Building Review Office (FHBRO). The conservation plan and proposed scope of work was also reviewed and developed in concert with the interpretation plan of the historic site.
