Cedar Ridge Creative Centre - Rehabilitation and Revitalization
The Cedar Ridge Creative Centre is situated in a lush park setting and is listed on the City of Toronto's Heritage Register. Comprising of three converted historic buildings, the site serves a cultural community hub with art galleries and studios.
EVOQ's involvement spans two complementary components. First, the rehabilitation of the main house's building envelope, including roof restoration, now completed. Second, the revitalization of the pottery studio — housed in a former carriage house dating from 1931 — aimed at transforming it into a more inclusive, accessible, and sustainable space. Currently in progress, this phase includes interior reconfiguration, new millwork, window replacement, upgraded mechanical and electrical systems, and improved barrier-free accessibility throughout.
The design process integrated three rounds of public consultation to ensure the work reflects the needs of the diverse community the centre serves.
