E-gloo 1000

E-gloo 1000 is a three-bedroom single-family home designed for EDC, as part of the private home ownership accessibility program of the Nunavik Housing Bureau. EVOQ designed the house so that it could be built on site or prefabricated in a factory.

E-gloo 1000 was designed to respond to Nunavik's rigorous climate and the Nunavimmiut lifestyle. Its functional volume incorporates a canopy at the front to protect the entrance from the elements. Its compact floor plan, centred on a luminous living room with a cathedral ceiling, provides a fluid circulation to the other rooms. The opening windows in each space provide natural cross-ventilation and optimise occupant comfort. Several types of storage and a choice of exterior cladding colours allow occupants to personalise their spaces to suit their needs.
