Fort Lasalle and Yeo Hall
Fort Lasalle and Yeo Hall are two of three buildings situated on the western peninsula of the Royal Military College. Working with Jokinen & Jovic Engineers, EVOQ completed two independent mandates for Fort Lasalle and Yeo Hall with similar scope and multiple project phasing. Phase I included the review of existing building records and site investigations to identify masonry deterioration and propose repairs for both buildings and the bridge linking them. For Yeo Hall, Phase I included the review of all the aluminum windows. Construction was phased to meet yearly budgetary envelopes and university student schedules. For Fort Lasalle, scope included reconstruction of the upper section main entrance tower and the rehabilitation of the masonry to address deterioration. The work required maintaining the building in operation during construction and ensuring the safety of all occupants. Protection and hoarding details were designed, and strategies for mechanical equipment protection and temporary relocation were developed for the mechanical room located in the tower section. The contract documents and contract administration for Phase III concluded in late 2020.
