Union Station – VIA Panorama Lounge
The VIA Panorama Lounge was one of the first projects to be completed as part of the Union Station Revitalization Project (USRP). The VIA1 lounge located in the original station Lunch Room reimagines the space for modern rail travelers with seating, work stations, and other amenities. The scope included removing layers of later finishes, flooring, paneling and wallpaper to uncover and restore the original marble and plaster finishes. The space was upgraded with new HVAC, sprinklers, lighting, plumbing, fire alarms, sound system and IT services. Built-in furniture was designed for the customer service counter and the café counter, as well as tall bar tables. The loose furniture and carpet were chosen by VIA rail from their standards.
