Gérald-Godin Building (360 McGill)
The Gérald-Godin Building, situated at 360 McGill Street within the Old Montreal historic site, was designed by architect Richard A. Waite and constructed between 1899 and 1902. Originally the headquarters of the Grand Trunk Railway and later the Canadian National Railway (CN), this noted heritage structure was acquired by the Government of Quebec in 1961.
EVOQ’s technical involvement with the building began in 2004 with a condition assessment and the restoration of its historic oriel window. Subsequent mandates have focused on regulatory compliance and asset management, including facade inspections per provincial public safety requirements. EVOQ, in consortium with STGM and Aedifica, also performed a real estate analysis and technical feasibility study to establish parameters for the building’s comprehensive rehabilitation.
