Mobile Equipment Maintenance Garage - Kuujjuarapik

Completed on behalf of the Quebec Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, this project involved the design and construction of an 820 m² maintenance facility at Kuujjuarapik Airport. The building includes a mechanical workshop for the servicing of heavy vehicles and airport equipment, storage areas, staff offices, a rest and transit area, and an emergency operations centre.

Designed to withstand the harsh climatic conditions of Nunavik, the facility features a high-performance building envelope that enhances energy efficiency and minimizes heat loss. Project delivery required meticulous logistical planning, as all materials and equipment were transported by sea within the region’s short northern construction season.
