Neqotkuk Kciw Knicanenwek Sports and Recreation Park

Completed in two phases between 2020 and 2024, the Neqotkuk Kciw Knicanenwek Sports and Recreation Park is a community project rooted in the cultural identity of the Tobique First Nation. The complex includes baseball and football fields, an athletics area, an amphitheatre, a wading pool, a covered skating rink and the Park Centre, a pavilion offering dining, changing rooms and rest areas.

The inclusive design draws from Wolastoqiyik landscapes and heritage: the facade is adorned with wood cladding, expansive panoramic windows and three striking Wabanaki double-curve motifs created in LED, evoking community bonds and the nation’s artistic traditions.

An authentic reflection of Wolastoqiyik identity, this park is an indispensable gathering place where, every day, sport, culture and community life come together.
