Saint-Joachim Church
Saint-Joachim Church in Pointe-Claire, designed by Victor Bourgeau (1882-1884), is a prime example of 19th century Quebec religious architecture. This limestone church, located within a designated heritage site, features an iconic bell tower that defines Pointe-Claire's historic urban landscape.
Working with Cosigma structural engineers, we stabilized the deteriorating bell tower masonry. Work included installing a steel reinforcement structure, repointing interior and exterior masonry of the upper section, waterproofing the bell floor, and installing new tin-plated copper flashings. Partial reconstruction of the buttress caps completed these interventions.
This project is part of a long-term maintenance program that includes the complete restoration of all façade masonry and eventual roof replacement, ensuring the preservation of this significant historical monument.
