Tobique Children and Family Services Centre
This renovation and expansion project of an existing office building in the Tobique First Nation aimed to create a faciliting providing social services for children and families. The program includes offices for social workers as well as a versatile and welcoming family and healing room.
The design reflects the cultural values of the Wolastoqiyik community by using warm materials, abundant natural light, and meaningful art. EVOQ collaborated with a local artist to create custom exterior railings adorned with traditional motifs, grounding the building in its cultural identity.
The space was designed to foster a sense of belonging, privacy, family interaction, and operational efficiency, allowing staff to dedicate more time to care than to administration.
