Université de Montréal - Facade repairs - Roger-Gaudry Pavillon
EVOQ, in consortium with Jodoin, Lamarre, Pratte Architectes, is supporting the Université de Montréal in the complete masonry restoration of the facades of the Roger-Gaudry Pavilion, the university's iconic flagship building designed by architect Ernest Cormier. This large-scale project, initiated in response to a requirement from the Régie du bâtiment du Québec, aims to ensure public safety and preserve the building's heritage components while improving the durability and weatherproofing of the facades.
Carried out on an occupied site amid numerous concurrent construction projects, the work is being phased over several years based on urgency and site accessibility, with close coordination among teams and users to minimize disruption to teaching activities.
The team conducted on-site investigations, material testing, and systematic studies, including an assessment of the windows in the Cour d'honneur. Initial phases cover the Cour d'honneur and North Wing facades, with the project continuing through 2030.
