Oujé-Bougoumou is a Cree community located in the Eeyou Istchee territory in northern Quebec.

Upon official recognition of Cree Nation status, the Band Council decided that, as a founding gesture, the first structure to be built in the heart of their community would serve a dual purpose, both symbolic and functional. EVOQ was asked to develop a design derived from the shaputuan (traditional Cree shelter).

The shaputuan was adapted and translated into a modern, open structure used throughout the year for recreational purposes. The iconic design of the Pavilion was the inspiration for all subsequent public architecture in the community.
