Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit, Art, Architecture and Traditional knowledge: The EVOQ exhibition continues its tour in Copenhagen
The official opening of the international Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit; art, architecture and traditional Knowledge traveling exhibition was held at Det Gronlandske Hus Kobenhavn (Greenlandic House) Kalaallit Illuutaat, on August 2nd in the presence of the Canadian Ambassador Carolyn Bennet, Leise Johnsen, director of the Greenlandic House and Sarah Olsvig, International Chair of the Inuit Circumpolar Council. Alain Fournier, Architect, Founding Partner and Director of EVOQ was accompanied by Isabelle Laurier, curation consultant. The exhibition will remain until October 31st 2024.
Architect and Designer Aviaaja Ezekiassen is also presenting her exhibition Traces of Heritage. Both exhibitions explore the same themes, expressing cultural identity through art, architecture and design.
The exhibition has drawn a very strong interest on the part of Inuit and Greenlanders because it shows and demonstrates how the cocreation process can be effective in expressing their cultures.
