The EVOQ team was thrilled to see the significant progress of the new Wemotaci fire station during its recent visits to the community. The impressive glulam structure is now fully erected, seamlessly blending with the surrounding forest landscape.

Construction, which began in August 2023, is progressing on schedule and is set for completion by the end of 2024. Once finished, the community’s firefighters will benefit from state-of-the-art facilities tailored to their unique needs. This vital infrastructure project is made possible through the collaboration of Indigenous Services Canada and the Wemotaci Atikamekw Council.
