May 12, 2016
On May 3, 2016, Alain Fournier was invited to appear as a witness at the Standing Senate Committee on Aboriginal Peoples. The Committee is studying best practices and the continuing challenges of housing for First Nations and Inuit communities in Nunavut, Nunavik, Nunatsiavut and the Northwest Territories. Alain was asked to share his experience working across the Inuit Nunangat region. His testimony included “stories from the trenches,” as he calls them, describing his work developing more than a dozen housing models built across 18 Aboriginal communities from Waswanipi to Iqaluktuuttiaq (Cambridge Bay).
