It is our great privilege to announce that Anya Messaoud-Nacer graduating student at Université de Montréal as well as an architectural intern with EVOQ’s Inuit and First Nations Arctitecture Team since February, has been awarded a RAIC (Royal Architectural Institute of Canada) Student Medal for 2021.

“A truly visionary project built upon a global reflection on ecological infrastructure that goes beyond the usual architectural programs, the laureate’s proposal expands the architect’s role in the development of cities and ecosystems. The jury wishes to highlight the precision of the research undertaken to support the project as well as the high quality of its presentation (writing, video, graphics). The jury considers this to be one of the most innovative thesis projects of the last few years and congratulates you for the courage you have demonstrated in developing such a project which is promising for the next generation of architects.”

 

RAIC’s Student Medal is awarded annually to a student graduating from a professional degree program in each accredited University School of Architecture in Canada who, in the judgment of the faculty of the respective School, has achieved the highest level of academic excellence and/or has completed the outstanding final design project/thesis for that academic year.

Anya also won the Lemay Award for her project that demonstrates an interest in the city and its transformation, as well as a nomination for the Canadian Architect Student Award of Excellence, an award given by a jury of architects (formed by Canadian Architect magazine) to the best graduation projects or theses in Canada.
