EVOQ wins a North American Copper in Architecture Award
July 9, 2013
The new balustrade of the Entrance Hall at Rideau Hall is recognized by this award for its outstanding use of architectural copper alloy, bronze in this case. Rideau Hall is the official residence of Canada’s Governor General in Ottawa.
Georges Drolet designed the balustrade, drawing on Canada’s Nature for its materials, forms, and composition, and inspired by the mix of transformation processes, industrial and traditional. A beautiful collaboration with the black-smith and the foundry.
