Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit, Art, Architecture and Traditional knowledge: The EVOQ Exhibition Continues Its Tour in Iceland
As part of the festivities surrounding the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Canada and Iceland, the Canadian Embassy in Iceland selected EVOQ Architecture’s international travelling exhibition, Inuit Qaujimajatuqangit, Art, Architecture and Traditional Knowledge to represent Canada at the Arctic Circle Assembly event in Reykjavik. The exhibition pays tribute to the Inuit artists whose work is integrated into the Canadian High Arctic Research Station (CHARS).
In Reykjavik, EVOQ was represented by our colleagues Isabelle Laurier, curator of the exhibition, and Alain Fournier, architect and Managing Director. They were accompanied by a partner of the travelling exhibition and Interim Principal of McGill University, Christopher Manfredi. Other partners of the exhibition include Terres en vue and La Guilde.
The significance of this event was highlighted by the presence of Her Excellency, Mary Simon, the Governor General of Canada, as well as Jeannette Menzies, Canada’s Ambassador to Iceland, Heidi Kutz, Canada’s Senior Arctic Official, Eliza Reid, Iceland’s First Lady, and Sammy Kudluk, Inuit artist.
EVOQ is proud to contribute to this international gathering and provide continued support for Canada’s strategic objectives for the Arctic and the North.
