The new Isuarsivik Recovery Centre welcomes its first clients
We are proud to announce that after years of planning and construction, the new Isuarsivik Recovery Centre in Kuujjuaq, Nunavik is finally welcoming its first clients. Rooted in traditional Inuit culture with the very best practices in addiction management, the new center, with its increased capacity, will broaden the range of treatment services available to Nunavimmiut.
The carefully detailed architecture of the center alludes to the avalaaqiak (arctic willow), the symbol of the organization, in its exterior massing, who is displayed as the unfolding of the buds. The interior spaces were partly inspired by the qaggiq (community igloo).
The EVOQ team is proud to have worked alongside their client on this meaningful project, closely collaborating with Isuarsivik’s past and present stakeholders.
