EVOQ was commissioned by the NHC to design multi-family public housing in Iqaluit, which includes the 24-unit Joamie Court and the 22-unit Tundra Ridge blocks. The developments offer a variety of housing types, including one- and two-story units, suited to tenants with reduced mobility and an aging population. EVOQ’s design maximizes the number of units and ensures high-quality interior spaces. The units integrate design elements such as cold outdoor storage, a large entrance hall and built-in shotgun cabinets, reflecting the specific realities of Nunavut life. These homes are designed to resist arctic winds, and their colorful facades are a testament to the resilience of the Nunavummiut.
