McGill University Centre Building - Roof Replacement
As part of the preservation of an iconic modernist building on the McGill University campus located within the Mount Royal heritage site, EVOQ Architecture led the complete replacement of the roofing systems at the University Centre. The project required rigorous planning to ensure continuity of operations, as the work was carried out in a fully occupied building.
The work involved replacing the roof membrane, insulation, drains, vapor barrier, and flashings, in accordance with AMCQ requirements. The project also included dismantling the window washing and facade maintenance systems, as well as decommissioning obsolete mechanical and electrical equipment.
The project successfully combines contemporary technical requirements with respect for the building’s heritage character.
