Rouyn-Noranda Air Terminal
The Rouyn-Noranda Air Terminal project enhances the city’s stature as the regional capital of Abitibi-Témiscamingue and a major urban center. It solidifies the airport’s role as the main air hub for Northern Quebec, Ontario, Nunavik, and Nunavut, serving as the gateway to key regional development projects.
Designed for functionality and safety, the terminal also incorporates distinctive architectural elements. The two-storey building, with a sloping roof that doubles as a sunshade, offers clear views of the tarmac from all public areas. Natural light floods the double-height passenger hall, creating a peaceful waiting environment. The structure’s carefully selected materials define its unique appearance. On the city side, a covered gallery and paved parvis shape the terminal’s urban space, providing an inviting entrance for passengers at the drop-off area.
