ICOMOS Canada kicked off its annual meeting at La Guilde yesterday evening
Yesterday evening at La Guilde, ICOMOS Canada kicked off its annual meeting. This year’s iteration explores the theme of “resurgence” in relation to the re-emergence of First Nations heritage and culture in our cities.
As a proud partner of this event, EVOQ was present throughout. ICOMOS vice-president and EVOQ partner Georges Drolet welcomed attendees and presented the evening’s special guest, Melissa Mollen Dupuis, who shared the importance of First Nations’ oral tradition through her eyes and her experience as an Innu woman. Isabelle Laurier, who has collaborated with EVOQ on First Nations projects, presented the integration of Indigenous art and architecture in the context of the Canadian High Arctic Research Station project.
The ICOMOS meeting continues until May 26 at various venues around the city. For full program details, consult the event website here.
