The West Block “Trees” Have Arrived

The massive columns that will hold up the glass domed roof over the West Block courtyard have arrived.  20 steel supports will be integrated into the heritage fabric of the neo-Gothic building and will be a prominent feature of the new interim House of Commons Chamber.  Georges Drolet’s “tree” design was inspired by the heritage landscape around Parliament Hill and evokes the vast Canadian forest.
