Ullivik Opens its Doors
The Ullivik project, located in Dorval, Quebec, has just been completed. Formerly known as the Module du nord québécois, Ullivik provides accommodation and transportation services for Nunavimiuts travelling to Montreal to receive medical treatment and counselling. The new building houses 91 hotel rooms for comfortable short and long-term stays, common living areas, a country food area, administrative offices, and ancillary services.
EVOQ (in consortium with CGA) was mandated in 2012 to prepare tender documents, accompanying the client throughout the build-lease project (project realized by acdf *). EVOQ ensured the artwork integration in the building, artwork provided by the Avataq Cultural Institute, and coordinated the selection of furniture for public spaces and rooms.
You can read a quick history of the project through Nunatsiaq Online here.
